Terms & Conditions
The terms that apply when you book a move with Servant Moving LLC in the United States.
Contents
1. Scope of these terms
These terms apply to every quote, booking, and move arranged with Servant Moving LLC, a limited liability company registered in the State of Connecticut, USA. All prices on this site and in our quotes are in US dollars ($).
2. Booking and quotes
Quotes provided through our website, by phone, or by email are estimates based on the information you provide (property size, locations, crew size, and any notes). Final pricing may be adjusted if the actual job differs materially from what was described — for example, more items, additional stairs, or access issues not mentioned at the time of quoting. We'll always tell you about a price change before continuing the job.
We ask for at least 2 days' notice before your move date. Interstate (cross-state) moves need at least 3 days' notice.
3. Payment
A 25% deposit is due at the time of booking, with the remaining balance due on completion of the move. We issue an invoice for your deposit and for your balance.
We accept credit card, debit card, bank transfer, and PayPal. On moving day, our crew can also take payment in person by card machine.
Once your move is confirmed, you can pay your deposit securely online — see Pay Your Deposit.
4. Cancellation and refunds
Full refund within 24 hours. If you book with us and cancel within 24 hours of booking, you will receive a full refund of anything you have paid.
Outside that 24-hour window, your refund depends on how close you are to your move date:
- More than 72 hours before your move — full refund of your deposit.
- 48–72 hours before your move — 75% of your deposit refunded.
- 24–48 hours before your move — 50% of your deposit refunded.
- Within 24 hours of your move, including the day of the move — 10% of your deposit refunded.
We recommend giving as much notice as possible so we can release your crew and time slot to another customer.
5. Liability and valuation coverage
For moves that cross state lines, federal law requires us to disclose the valuation coverage options available for your belongings before the move:
- Released Value Protection — the minimum level of protection required by federal law, at no additional charge, valuing your belongings at $0.60 per pound per article regardless of actual value.
Ask us about additional valuation coverage options for your move. Before an interstate move, we'll provide you with a copy of the FMCSA's consumer booklet, "Your Rights and Responsibilities When You Move," as required by federal law.
6. Your responsibilities
- Accurately describe your inventory, property size, and access conditions (stairs, elevators, parking) when requesting a quote
- Ensure valuable, fragile, sentimental, or irreplaceable items are identified to us in advance
- Have a responsible adult present at both pickup and delivery locations
7. Items we can't move
We're unable to transport hazardous materials, flammable liquids, perishable food, live plants or animals, or illegal items. Ask us in advance if you're unsure whether something qualifies.
8. Making a claim
If something is lost or damaged during your move, please notify us in writing as soon as possible after your move, with a description of the item and the damage, so we can look into it without delay.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Connecticut, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, alongside applicable US federal regulations for interstate movers.
