The terms that apply when you book a move with Servant Moving LLC, in the US or the UK.
These terms apply to every quote, booking, and move arranged with Servant Moving LLC, whether you're located in the United States or the United Kingdom. Because moving regulations differ between the two countries, some sections below apply only to one โ these are clearly labelled.
Quotes provided through our website, by phone, or by email are estimates based on the information you provide (property size, locations, crew size, and any notes). Final pricing may be adjusted if the actual job differs materially from what was described โ for example, more items, additional stairs, or access issues not mentioned at the time of quoting. We'll always tell you about a price change before continuing the job.
Payment terms (deposit, if any, and final payment method and timing) will be confirmed with you at the time of booking. [ADD YOUR ACTUAL DEPOSIT/PAYMENT POLICY HERE, e.g. "A 20% deposit is due at booking, with the balance due on completion of the move."]
[ADD YOUR ACTUAL US CANCELLATION POLICY, e.g. notice period required and any deposit forfeited for late cancellation.] We recommend giving as much notice as possible so we can release your crew and time slot to another customer.
If you booked your removal online or by phone (a "distance contract") as a consumer in the UK, the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 give you the right to cancel within 14 days of booking, without giving a reason, unless the service has already been fully performed with your agreement before that period ends. To cancel within this period, contact us using the details in Section 12.
This 14-day right is in addition to, and doesn't reduce, any other cancellation terms we offer.
For moves that cross state lines, federal law requires us to disclose the valuation coverage options available for your belongings before the move:
Before an interstate move, we'll provide you with a copy of the FMCSA's consumer booklet, "Your Rights and Responsibilities When You Move," as required by federal law.

For moves entirely within Connecticut, state law (Conn. Gen. Stat. ยงยง 13b-387 through 13b-414) requires household goods movers to hold an active Household Goods Carrier Certificate issued by the Connecticut Department of Transportation, with a minimum of $750,000 in liability insurance. This is separate from federal interstate registration and is required even for local, in-state moves.

[ADD YOUR ACTUAL UK LIABILITY TERMS โ for example, a standard limit of liability per item or per weight, and whether customers can purchase additional goods-in-transit insurance.] We recommend UK customers confirm whether their home contents insurance covers items in transit during a move, as a removals company's liability is typically limited unless additional cover is purchased.
We're unable to transport hazardous materials, flammable liquids, perishable food, live plants or animals, or illegal items. Ask us in advance if you're unsure whether something qualifies.
If something is lost or damaged during your move, please notify us in writing as soon as possible, and no later than [ADD YOUR CLAIM WINDOW, e.g. "9 months of delivery" for US interstate moves per federal minimum, or your own UK claim window] with a description of the item and the damage.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Connecticut, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, alongside applicable US federal regulations for interstate movers.
For consumers located in the UK, nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights under UK consumer protection law, including the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
